Epilogue

*Around 4 months later*
‘You’re doing great sweetie,’ I told Alina who laid on the bed, legs spread as she pushed. She stopped to breathe as she leaned her head back.
‘It doesn’t feel too great,’ Alina said, a little out of breath. She had sweat covering her forehead and body. I frowned as I dabbed at her face.
‘I know princess but our little boy is going to be worth it,’ I said. She gave me a small smile and nodded.
‘Yes, he is,’ she said as the elder gave her the signal. She had been with Alina for Minho’s birth as well as Soraya’s and has helped with all the births in the pack ever since she came and joined us.
Alina squeezed my hand as she let out a small scream as she pushed. I felt my heart break as I saw her like this. I hated seeing her in so much pain. I absolutely detested it but I knew it was for our son – our son who we have been waiting for for nine months.
‘You got this baby. A little more,’ I said as she held on to my arm. She nodded as she pushed again, screaming a little. I closed my eyes as I recalled what Yoongi and Taehyung had told me before I walked into the room with her.
‘You’re going to want to walk out because you’ll feel your heart break.’
‘It will hurt seeing her in pain but unable to do anything about it, but you can be there for her.’
‘Breathe with her. Wipe her forehead. Just be there’
‘Remind her how much you love her, how much we all love her.’
I opened my eyes again as I gave her a small smile. ‘I love you Alina, I love you so much. I love you and all the boys love you too,’ I said. She let out a little chuckle as she looked at me breathless.
‘That’s…that’s a bit random, but I love you too,’ she said before her face twisted in pain and she pushed again.
‘That’s it. Keep pushing Luna,’ the elder said. I gasped and held my breath as everything seemed to happen in slow motion – Alina pushing and screaming and the baby coming out – his cries filling the air.
‘My boy,’ I whispered as I let go of the breath I was holding. I trembled as I watched the elder move about as she cut the cord and went to the side to clean him. I looked back at Alina who was catching her breath while her eyes followed our son.
‘He’s here. He’s finally here,’ she said as she let out some fresh new tears. I nodded as I grabbed her hand and intertwined my fingers with hers.
‘You did it baby, you did it. Goddess, I love you so much Alina. Thank you so much,’ I said as I bent down to kiss her forehead and then her lips.
The elder came back as she placed our son on Alina’s chest. Alina quickly wrapped her arms around him, her experience coming into play. She held him tightly against her chest as she stared at him.
The elder gave me a smile and a pat on the shoulder. ‘Congratulations, you have a healthy, handsome baby boy,’ she said.
‘Thank you for all your hard work Ajjuma,’ I said as I gave her a bow. She patted my shoulder once more as I stood.
‘I’ll go get Jia to come in,’ she said as I nodded. I turned back to Alina as I sat on the bed and reached for the baby’s finger.
‘He’s so small,’ I said as Alina nodded. ‘He has your nose baby,’ I said with a giggle.
‘But he has your lips and eyes,’ she said. ‘Welcome to the world baby Alex,’ she said, her voice cracking.
‘I’m glad we’re naming him Alex. He would have been over the moon about it,’ I said as Alina nodded.
‘It felt right,’ she said as Jia walked in with a big smile on her face. ‘Having a healer definitely has perks, huh?’ Alina joked.
‘Of course,’ I said as Jia put her hand out and light emitted from her hand. Being a healer, she could not ease labour pain but she could definitely help with the aftereffects.
‘There, you should be feeling much better,’ Jia said as she finished up. Alina nodded with a smile.
‘Thank you Jia. I appreciate it a lot,’ she said and Jia nodded.
‘You still need to rest Alina. I only healed your opening so you won’t need stitches or get an infection but your body still went through a lot so rest, okay?’ she asked.
‘I will make sure she will,’ I said as Jia nodded. She gave another smile and walked out of the room. I looked back at Alina who was holding our son, close to her. I could not even look away for a second.
‘Baby?’ I heard Alina calling, causing me to look at her. ‘Why are you crying babe?’ she asked. I shrugged and smiled at the same time.
‘I don’t know how to explain it Alina. I just feel so, so happy. I felt like this with Minho and Soraya too. It’s a feeling I can never really understand but a feeling I always welcome,’ I said as she nodded.
‘I know, I understand Chim,’ she said. ‘Take off your shirt so you can hold him. Skin to skin contact helps a lot with bonding,’ Alina said. I nodded as I quickly took off my shirt and she placed Alex in my arms.
‘He’s so light,’ I said with a gasp as I laid back, resting my back against the headboard.
‘Well, he is a new born baby Chim,’ Alina said with a giggle as I unwrapped some of the blanket so more of his skin can touch with mine. I watched his face relax a little as he placed his small hand on my chest.
‘My precious little boy,’ I said as I felt another tear roll down my cheek. I heard the door opening, followed by many footsteps.
‘Mama!’ I heard Soraya yell as she jumped on the bed and on her mother who gasped quietly, but enough for us to hear her.
‘Soraya baby, be careful,’ Yoongi scolded gently as Soraya looked at him with big eyes. ‘I know you’re excited to see Mama but Mama is a little bit hurt,’ Yoongi said to which Soraya looked at Alina.
‘Sorry Mama,’ she said, her lips turned into a pout but Alina quickly smiled.
‘It’s okay sweetie. I just need to sleep a little bit and then I’ll be okay and can play with you,’ Alina said as she hugged Soraya.
Minho walked next to me as he looked at Alex. His eyes went wide as a big smile spread on his face. ‘He’s so cute,’ Minho said as he touched Alex’s foot.
‘He really is,’ Taehyung said as he looked at us proudly. ‘You did it baby,’ he said as he kissed her forehead.
‘We’re so proud of you princess,’ Namjoon said. ‘And you too Chim. You two made a beautiful baby,’ he said, making me smile.
‘Everyone in the pack is so excited to meet him,’ Jin said with a chuckle. Jungkook came next to me as he knelt down to look at him.
‘He’s so cute. I can’t get over how cute he is,’ Jungkook said laughing.
‘Well he definitely looks like his Papa,’ Hoseok commented, making me smile proudly.
‘Ahh look at him beaming,’ Yoongi teased as he slapped his hand on my shoulder carefully. I looked at Alex who moved about. ‘I think he needs feeding,’ he added while I nodded.
‘Time to go back to Mama,’ I said as Taehyung took Soraya while I placed Alex on top of Alina.
*Some months later*
The boys, the kids, Alina and I were at a clearing near the lake. I watched as the boys played with Minho and Soraya, shooting a ball and running after it. Their laughter echoed in the place which only made me smile even more.
I looked over at Alina who uncovered her breast so that Alex could start to drink. I watched in amazement as he latched on quickly and started to feed. It always looked so beautiful whenever she breastfed.
I found myself thinking about everything that had led to what our lives were now. Everything had started when Taehyung and I had been attacked and Alina had saved us and then Jungkook found us.
We had gone to bring the others to meet our final soulmate, but by the time we had arrived, Taehyung and her were both gone. We had gone crazy until we found them.
I remembered that time when Alina had gone to the city and came across Huening Kai getting beaten. Even remembering it sent shivers down my spine. I had been on call with her when she told me what was going on and then I had heard her scream.
Still, one of the worst things was with those vampires. They had taken her and tortured her. I had been so afraid that time but she had been like a goddess, powering through…until we realized she had been bitten.
The process after that had been absolutely heart wrenching. I could not even watch and had to step out until we were told that the way to save her was to mark her.
Then our lives had blessed us with Minho and then Soraya. As we waited for Alex we had run into trouble with another pack of wolves. We had lost and grieved but grew stronger together as we welcomed baby Alex.
‘What are you thinking baby?’ I heard Alina saying, as she pulled me out of my memory trip. I smiled as I scooted closer to her on the picnic blanket.
‘I was mentally going through a lot of our memories, especially those life altering ones,’ I said.
‘We have gone through a lot, haven’t we?’ she asked and I nodded.
‘Yes, but it only made us love each other even more,’ I said as I stole a glance at the rest of our family.
‘That it did,’ she said. ‘You should go play with them. I’m fine here,’ she said. I looked at her, smiled and nodded. I gave her a peck on the lips as I stood up and jogged towards the others.
‘Ahh Chim you’re here. Come play,’ Taehyung called as I laughed and nodded.
‘Quick. Pass me the ball,’ I said as Yoongi threw the ball in my direction.
